Fees & scholarships

Your tuition fees will depend upon whether you’re a Study Abroad or an Exchange student, how many units you study and whether you stay for one semester or two. You might be eligible for a scholarship or financial aid, depending on your country of origin and circumstances.

Tuition Fees

If you’re an Exchange student from one of our official partner universities, you will continue to pay the tuition fees of your home university whilst studying at Murdoch. Please check with your home university for further details.

For all other students, the 2017 Study Abroad tuition fee depends on the amount of credit points you enrol in at Murdoch.

Credit Points

Tuition Fee (AUD)

Notes

9 points

$7,020

Due to student visa regulations, you cannot study less than 9 credit points.

10 points

$7,800

11 points

12 points

$9,360

This is a standard full-time load. Studying more than 12 credit points will incur additional fees.

Our refund policy

Sometimes circumstances change and you are no longer able to take up your place at Murdoch. In some cases, you may be eligible for a refund or partial refund. If you’re receiving a scholarship or financial aid, please check with your lending institution to learn about any policies that may apply if you request a refund.

  • Total refund

All tuition fees will be fully refunded if either:

    • We withdraw the offer of a place.
    • We are unable to provide the program.

However, if the offer had been made on the basis of incorrect or incomplete information in your application, the university reserves the right to retain an administrative fee of AUD$500.

  • Partial refund

After accepting an Offer of Enrolment:

    • If you give notice of withdrawal more than ten weeks before commencement of the semester, all tuition fees paid in advance are refundable less an administrative fee of AUD$500.
    • If you give notice of withdrawal less than ten weeks before commencement of the semester, all tuition fees paid in advance are refundable less an administrative fee of AUD$1,000.
    • If you withdraw from the university after commencement of the semester but before 31 March in Semester 1, or 31 August in Semester 2, you may be eligible for a refund of all tuition fees paid in advance, less 50% of the tuition fee paid for the semester in which you withdraw.
  • No refund

If you withdraw from your studies after 31 March in Semester 1, or 31 August in Semester 2, you will not be eligible for a refund of the tuition fee paid for the relevant semester.

Student visa

You will need a valid student visa to study as a Study Abroad student.

Student visas cost AUD$550, which is correct as of January 2017 but please check the cost at the time you apply. You will need to apply through the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and your visa will be issued by the Australian Embassy or High Commission in your home country.
